If you run a WooCommerce store, you can accept UPI with zero commission and have orders marked complete automatically. Here's the full setup.
Before you start
- An active UPIstar Lifetime account (get one here)
- At least one UPI ID added under Settings → UPI IDs
- Admin access to your WordPress site, which must run over HTTPS
Step 1: Download the plugin
In your UPIstar dashboard, open Developers → Plugins and download the WooCommerce plugin ZIP.
Step 2: Install and activate
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP, then click Install Now and Activate.
Step 3: Connect your account
- Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Payments and click UPIstar UPI.
- Paste your API key from Settings → API Keys in the UPIstar dashboard.
- Copy the Webhook URL shown in the plugin settings.
- Paste it into Settings → Webhooks in your UPIstar dashboard, then copy the webhook secret back into the plugin.
- Save both screens.
Step 4: Test with sandbox keys
Switch the plugin to Sandbox mode, place a test order on your store and click Simulate payment in the UPIstar dashboard. The WooCommerce order should move to Processing or Completed within seconds.
Step 5: Go live
Swap in your live API key, switch the mode to Live, and you're done. Customers will see a UPI checkout with a dynamic QR on desktop, and one-tap app buttons on mobile.
Troubleshooting
- Orders stay "Pending payment": confirm the webhook URL is saved in the UPIstar dashboard, and check whether a security or firewall plugin is blocking
/wp-json/requests. - Signature errors in logs: the webhook secret in the plugin doesn't match the dashboard. Copy it again.
- Caching issues: exclude the checkout and order-received pages from your caching plugin.
